Formel 1-sæsonen 1987 er den 38. sæson af Formel 1- verdensmesterskabet . Det begyndte den 12. april 1987 og sluttede den 15. november , bestod af 16 etaper.

Denne sæson var turboladede motorer begrænset til 2,5 bar. For naturligt aspirerede motorer fik arbejdsvolumen lov til at øges til 3,5 liter, og bilens vægt blev reduceret til 500 kg (uden racerbil og brændstof), hvilket er 40 kg mindre end turboladede biler [1] . Også for piloter, der konkurrerede med naturligt aspirerede motorer, blev Jim Clark Cup introduceret .
