Viscount Allendale

Viscount Allendale , af Allendale  og Hexham i County of Northumberland ,  er en titel i Peerage i Det Forenede Kongerige .

Historie

Titlen Viscount Allendale blev skabt den 5. juli 1911 for den liberale politiker Wentworth Beaumont, 2. Baron Allendale (1860-1923). Han var medlem af House of Commons for Hexham (1895-1907), tjente som vicekammerherre ved det kongelige hof (1905-1907), kaptajn for yeomanry guards (1908-1911) og Lord in waiting (1911-1916) .

Titlen som Baron Allendale , af Allendale og Hexham i County of Northumberland ( Peerage of the United Kingdom ) blev skabt den 20. juli 1906 for hans far, Yorkshire - minemagnaten og liberale MP , Wentworth Beaumont (1829-1907). Den første Viscounts søn, Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont, 2. Viscount Allendale (1890-1956), tjente som Lord Lieutenant of Northumberland (1949-1956).

Fra 2013 var titelindehaveren hans barnebarn, Wentworth Peter Ismay Beaumont, 4. Viscount Allendale (f. 1948 ), som efterfulgte sin far i 2002 .

• Thomas Wentworth Beaumont (1792–1848), politiker, far til den 1. Baron Allendale. Medlem af Underhuset for Northumberland (1818-1826, 1830-1832), Stafford (1826-1830) og North Northumberland (1832-1837)
• Den ærede Hubert Beaumont (1864–1922), liberal politiker, tredje søn af 1. Baron Allendale. Medlem af Underhuset for Eastbourne (1906-1910)
• Timothy Wetworth Beaumont (1928-2008), barnebarn af den forrige, formand for det liberale parti (1967-1968), formand for det liberale parti (1969-1970). I 1967 blev han udnævnt til Baron Beaumont af Whitley.

Familiens boliger er Bivelle Hall i Bivelle og Stocksfield Hall i Stocksfield i Northumberland . De ejer også Bretton Hall i West Yorkshire .
