Viscount Southwell , fra Mattress Castle i County of Limerick , er en titel i Peerage of Ireland .
Historie
Titlen Viscount Southwell blev skabt den 18. juli 1776 for Thomas Southwell, 3. Baron Southwell (1721-1780). Familien Southwell nedstammede fra Thomas Southwell (d. 1680 ). I 1662 blev der oprettet et baronet for ham fra Mattress Castle i County of Limerick ( Irlands baronyship ). Han blev efterfulgt af sin søn, Thomas Southwell, 2. Baronet (1665-1720), som tidligere repræsenterede amtet Limerick i det irske underhus (1695-1713, 1715-1717). I 1717 blev han skabt til Baron Southwell af Mattress Castle i County Limerick (Peerage of Ireland ). Hans barnebarn, Thomas George Southwell, 3.
