Deeley, John

John Deely ( født  John Deely ; 26. april 1942 , Chicago , Illinois [2] - 7. januar 2017 [1] , Greensburg , Pennsylvania ) var en amerikansk filosof og semiotiker . Præsident for American Society of Semiotics.

Biografi

Professor ved University of St. Tom ( Houston , USA ).

Præsident for American Society for Semiotics og næstformand for International Association of Semiotics. Han blev inviteret til at holde forelæsninger på en række universiteter i Amerika og Europa: Brasilien, Mexico, Finland.

Redaktør af Yearbook Papers of the American Semiotics Society.

Forfatter til en række monografier og mere end 100 artikler om semiotik. Værkerne er oversat til en række sprog. De mest berømte værker: "Introduktion til semiotik", "Philosophical Dimensions of the Origin of Species", "Man Uses Signs", "On the Eve" (tidlig filosofi), "Heidegger's Tradition" osv.
