Maria Elisabeth af Sachsen ( tysk :  Maria Elisabeth von Sachsen ; 22. november 1610 , Dresden  - 24. oktober 1684 , Husum ) - Hertuginde af Holstein-Gottorp , hustru til hertug Frederik III .

Biografi

Datter af kurfyrst Johann Georg I og hans hustru Magdalena Sibylla af Preussen . Trolovet i 1627, gift i 1630, hendes ægteskab blev arrangeret af dronning Sophia af Danmark og Norge og enkehertuginde Hedwig af Sachsen . Som medgift modtog hun et maleri af Lucas Cranach den ældre .

Hun blev enke i 1659 og flyttede til Husum Slot i 1660 , som blev et kulturcenter, hvor hun spillede rollen som protektor. Hun udgav sin fortolkning af Bibelen i 1664.
