Shaft (også kendt som Detective Shaft ) er en amerikansk blackploitation -film . Skærmtilpasning af et værk skrevet af Ernest Tidyman . Film instrueret af Gordon Parks. Medvirkende detektiv John Shaft, Richard Roundtree. Oscar for bedste originale sang .
Plot
Den sorte privatdetektiv Shaft ved, hvordan man arbejder bedst på gaden i New York. Han kæmper mod kongen af Harlem, den sorte gangster Bumpy, men bliver hurtigt tvunget til at slå sig sammen med ham: folket i den "hvide" mafia kidnapper Bumpys unge datter.
