Sir David N. Cannadine ( eng.  David N. Cannadine ; f. 7. september 1950 , Birmingham ) er en britisk historiker, specialist i det moderne Storbritannien og dets imperium. Professor ved Princeton, hvor han har arbejdet siden 2008 [5] . Præsident for British Academy (siden 2017). Udenlandsk medlem af American Philosophical Society (2019). Redaktør af Oxford Dictionary of National Biography .

Biografi

Voksede op i Birmingham [6] . Han blev uddannet i Oxford , Cambridge (hvor han studerede økonomisk og social historie [7] ) og Princeton . Fra 1975-1988 var han Fellow ved Christ College, Oxford University og underviste ved Columbia University . Nu direktør for Institute for Historical Research ved University of London, arbejder han som litterær klummeskribent i pressen, sender i radio og tv.

Nominel professor (Dodge Professor) i Princetons historie, hvor han har arbejdet siden efteråret 2008 [8] .

Medlem af redaktionen for Past & Nutid [9] , var dets næstformand [5] . Redaktør af Penguin History of Britain [6] serien .

Forfatter til 12 bøger og redaktør af 13 [5] .
