Liste over haller og walks of fame

En hall, væg eller walk of fame er en liste over karakterer, præstationer eller dyr valgt af en bestemt gruppe mennesker med det formål at anerkende deres  berømmelse  i et bestemt område. I nogle tilfælde er disse haller of fame faktisk haller eller museer, hvor honorerede mindes med skulpturer, mindeplader og udstillinger af ting og generel information. Nogle gange er prismodtagerens plaketter placeret på væggen (“berømmelsens mur” vises) eller indprentet på fortovet (“walk of fame” eller “avenue of fame”). I andre tilfælde er hall of fame figurativ og inkluderer blot en æresliste over navne eller præstationer. Listerne er udarbejdet af en organisation eller et fællesskab og er nationale, statslige, regionale eller private.

Det engelske udtryk blev populært efter dannelsen af ​​Hall of Fame of Great Americans i 1900  gennem  indsatsen  fra Bronx Community College af  ​​byen  New York . Han blev inspireret af  Ruhmeshalle ( den russiske Hall of Fame ) i  München . En endnu tidligere Valhalla Hall of Fame  blev grundlagt i 1807 i  det tyske Bayern og bygget mellem 1830 og 1842.
