NGC 4725 (andre betegnelser - UGC 7989 , MCG 4-30-22 , ZWG 129.27 , KUG 1247+257B , IRAS12478+2545 , PGC 43451 ) er en sprosset spiralgaller i Berenspiralkonstellation . Det er placeret i en afstand af omkring 40 millioner lysår fra Jorden. NGC 4725 er en Seyfert-galakse og menes at have en aktiv galaktisk kerne indeholdende et supermassivt sort hul . Galaksen er den lyseste repræsentant for Coma Berenices I -gruppen af galakser .
Dette objekt er blandt dem, der er opført i den oprindelige revision af det nye generelle katalog .
Supernovaer SN 1940B, SN 1969H, SN 1999gs brød ud i galaksen . Deres maksimale tilsyneladende størrelse var henholdsvis 12,8, 15,0, 19,3. Supernova SN 1987E brød ud på baggrund af galaksen [5]
