Douglas Futuyma ( født 24. april 1942 ) er en amerikansk biolog. Doctor of Philosophy, professor emeritus ved State University of New York , medlem af US National Academy of Sciences (2006).
Biografi
Han modtog sin bachelorgrad fra Cornell University og derefter fra University of Michigan modtog hans master- og ph.d. -grader i biologi. Han er i øjeblikket professor emeritus i økologi og evolution ved State University of New York .
Forfatter til den meget brugte lærebog Evolutionary Biology and Science on Trial: The Case for Evolution , som er en introduktion til den evolutionær-kreationistiske debat. Han er også forfatter til elevlærebogen Evolution .
Han er præsident for Society for the Study of Evolution og American Society of Naturalists , og redaktør af Evolution and the Annual Review of Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics .
Modtager af Sewell Wright Award fra American Society of Naturalists (1997), Leidy Award (2012), samt Fulbright og Guggenheim programmerne.
