Estepona ( spansk  Estepona ) er en kommune i Spanien , en del af provinsen Malaga [2] , en del af det autonome samfund Andalusien . Kommunen er en del af Costa del Sol Occidental -distriktet (comarca) . Det optager et areal på 137 km². Befolkning - 66.150 personer (for 2010 ). Afstanden til provinshovedstaden er 83 km.

Ifølge legenden var det hestegudinden Eponas foretrukne sted. Her, på en solrig, malerisk kyst, var der et rituelt fristed dedikeret til denne gudinde. En lille bygd voksede efterhånden op ved siden af. [3]
