Rubidium heptagallium danner krystaller af trigonal syngony , rumgruppe R 3 m , celleparametre a = 0,6600 nm, c = 2,8563 nm, Z = 6, heptagallium cæsium type struktur CsGa 7 [1] [2] [3] [4] .
Forbindelsen dannes ved en peritetisk reaktion ved en temperatur på 354 °C [1] .
