The Great American Bash er et wrestlingshow  , der arrangeres af den amerikanske wrestlingpromovering WWE .

Showet blev oprettet af Dusty Rhodes og blev etableret i 1985 og var oprindeligt vært af National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP) og blev sendt på tv med lukket kredsløb. Pay-per-view (PPV) -udsendelser begyndte i 1988 , og senere samme år blev JCP omdøbt til World Championship Wrestling (WCW), som udsprang fra NWA i januar 1991.

I marts 2001 erhvervede World Wrestling Federation (WWF) WCW. I maj 2002 blev WWF omdøbt til World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), og i 2004 genoplivede kampagnen The Great American Bash som sit eget årlige PPV-show. Det blev hostet eksklusivt for WWE SmackDown -mærket fra 2004 til 2006 . I 2009 omdøbte WWE showet The Bash, som også var den sidste Great American Bash-udsendelse på PPV, da det blev erstattet af Fatal 4-Way i 2010 .

The Great American Bash vendte tilbage i juli 2012 under sin originale fulde titel og var vært som en speciel live-episode af SmackDown. I juli 2020 blev begivenhedens navn igen genoplivet og er siden blevet kørt som et årligt show for WWE NXT -mærket , der blev sendt som særlige episoder.
