I 2012 introducerede Intel Atom-processorfamilien i et nyt format, systemet på en chip (SoC). Platformen er designet til kommunikatorer og tablet-computere . [1] Den 13. september 2011 foreslog Google også et partnerskab for at understøtte Android -mobiloperativsystemkompatibilitet med Intel x86 -processorarkitekturen . [2]
I 2015 introducerer Intel niveaustyring for Atom-familien af processorer. Nu er der 3 af dem, som med de ældre processorer i Core-familien. Det er x3, x5, x7.
Intel Atom-processorer: x3 - basisniveau, Atom x5 - mere produktiv, Atom x7 - den mest produktive i Intel Atom-familien.
