Gonzaga-Luzzara er et uddødt markgravsdynasti, en sidegren af Gonzaga -klanen , grundlagt i hertugdømmet Mantua af prins Rodolfo Gonzaga og Caterina Pico . Repræsentanter for dynastiet bar titlerne som herrer og markgrever af Luzzara.
Historie
Efter døden af Ludovico III , 2. markgreve af Mantua, blev hans ejendele delt mellem hans sønner. Rodolfo, den femte søn og tiende barn i familien til Ludovico III og hans kone Barbara af Brandenburg, modtog i fælles besiddelse med sin yngre bror Ludovico (frasagde sig alle ejendele) Luzzara, Castel Goffredo, Castiglione delle Stiviere og Solferino, og også Canneto, Mariana og Rodolesco. Han byttede senere de sidste tre ud med Luzzara med sin ældre bror Federico I, 3. markgreve af Mantua. Rodolfo bar titlen markgreve som en høflighedstitel. Han var ikke en suveræn hersker. Den 11. februar 1494 bevilgede kejser Maximilian ham en investitur med titlen herre over Luzzara. Rodolfos arving efter slaget ved Fornovo di Taro, som fandt sted den 6. juli 1495, var hans ældste søn Gianfrancesco. Han blev efterfulgt af sin søn Massimiliano, som blev 1. markgreve af Luzzara fra 1561. Hans yngre bror Rodolfo grundlagde en sidegren af Gonzaga-Poviglio-familien. Under Massimiliano i 1557 blev markgreven tvangsindløst af Guglielmo I, hertug af Mantua og markgreve af Monferrato. Massimiliano efterlod til sig selv og sine arvinger titlen Markgrever af Luzzara, en række paladser og godser, men mistede sin suveræne status. Dynastiet døde ud i 1794 med døden af dets sidste repræsentant, Giovanni Gonzaga [1] [2] .
