Pro-Música Brasil ( PMB ), tidligere Brazilian Association of Recording Producers ( Port.-Brazil. Associação Brasileira dos Produtores de Discos, ABPD ) er en non-profit organisation , der samler de største musikalske fonografiske virksomheder, der opererer i Brasilien . [2] Medlem af International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). [3] Pró-Música Brasil er også ansvarlig for at udstede guld-, platin- og diamantcertifikater. [3]

Historie

I april 1958 blev den brasilianske sammenslutning af pladeproducenter stiftet, som skulle repræsentere pladeselskaber, koordinere aktioner for at beskytte interesserne for forfattere, udøvende kunstnere, musikere, producenter og musikudgivere, samt det kollektive forsvar og institutionelle rettigheder og fælles medlemmernes interesser, bekæmpe musikalsk piratkopiering og fremme statistiske undersøgelser og markedsundersøgelser. I 1995, for at bekæmpe piratkopiering, oprettede ABPD Association for the Protection of Intellectual Rights in Phonographs ( Porto-Br. Associação Protetora dos Direitos Intelectuais Fonográficos, APDIF ). [2]

Før 1990 var der ingen musikcertificering i Brasilien. Derefter var certificeringsniveauerne som følger: [4] Siden november 2008 begyndte APBD at certificere digitalt salg. [4] [5]

I 2016 blev ABPD omdøbt til Pró-Música Brasil Produtores Fonográfico Associados. [3]
